Hot Air Balloon Ride - March 2006

Our Christmas present from our daughter and son-in-law was a hot air balloon ride. What a wonderful gift. The ride was nothing like we expected. Tony is a little nervous of heights so he was apprehensive. However, he was completely surprised by the slow and smooth ascent. The pilot would ascend the balloon as high as 5200 feet and then descend to as low as 50 feet from the ground. He continued this manuever several times. The ride was approximately one hour and 15 minutes. The views were awesome. When we completed the ride, the chase car was waiting. We were served champagne, juice, fruit and pastry. We were also presented with a certificate that made us official aeronauts.
