N Myrtle Beach, SC Aug 28 thru Sep 2nd 2005
Well, we didn't make it to Tennessee. Locals advised to stay put until Hurrican Katrina passed through. All reports indicated it would go through Louisiana and then head North. Which meant Tennesse would be impacted. Since we enjoyed our time in N Myrtle Beach, we decided to go back to the RV Park at N Myrtle Beach and "hunker down". The locals ended up being correct. The weather was great on the Carolina coastline but all other areas were hit with heavy rainfall. We were saddened by the devastation that Katrina left in her wake. It also has forced us to change our travel plans. We were originally planning to go to Tennessee and then follow the Mississippi River down to New Orleans. We are now planning our new strategy; especially now that gasoline is becoming a shortage in the East. Gasoline prices went up 30 to 50 cents overnight! Stay tuned.
