St Charles, IA August 3rd - August 5, 2005
We arrived in St. Charles, IA which is located 30 miles south of Des Moines. Our friends, Tom and Dan, have a farm in St Charles. It is a beautiful farm with some very interesting sculptures,vases, bells and other art work beautifully displayed throughout the property. Tom and Dan breed minature show horses. These horses are only 25 to 30 inches tall. They were so cute; especially the babies. Unlike some livestock, these horses are very affectionate and can make wonderful pets. This was our first trip to Iowa and we were so surprised by its beauty. Iowa was very green and lush with rolling hills and valleys. Des Moines neighborhoods reminded us a lot of Portland neighborhoods. Now we are headed to Harrisburg, PA to visit my sister.

Do you know what is going on in a 9 more days. Please tell me you haven't forgotten.
By the way MFY do you ever read the emails we send you. We the people you left behind while you go out and play around for a year. hmmmm, time will tell.
