Grand Canyon, June 28, 2007

We headed for the Grand Canyon after visiting New Mexico. Trevor and Makena have never seen the Grand Canyon and we were excited to show them this natural wonder. They were awestruck by its grandeur. We hiked a portion of the the Bright Angel trail.

Sante Fe, NM

From Albuquerque we took a day trip to Sante Fe. It is a very quaint town. We really like all the pueblo style homes and commercial buildings. We had fun shopping in Old Town.

Albuquerque, NM

Our next destination after leaving El Paso was Albuquerque, NM. We wanted to ride the tram which is the longest tram ride in the country. The ride took 15 minutes to get to the top of the mountain. The views from the tram and the observation deck at the top of the mountain were awesome.

El Paso, TX June 21, 2007

We arrived in El Paso for the purpose of visiting with family and celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday. All my siblings were there and it was great to see them all. Our granddaughter, Makena, flew into to El Paso. She will be joining us on our adventure from El Paso.

Travel Update

From the Redwoods, we headed to Las Vegas, NV. We spent a couple of nights there and Tony entered a couple of Hold Em tournaments. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to place in any of the tournaments. From Las Vegas, we went to Yuma, AZ. The weather was extremely hot! It reached 110 degrees while we were there. The air conditioning in our RV was not able to keep the inside cool because of the extreme temperatures. We left Yuma and headed for Tuscon. Tuscon was just as hot. We decided to stay and have another air conditioner in the RV. Now we have two air conditioners which is keeping us cool inside the RV.

Trees of Mystery Museum, 06-05-07

We had a great time touring the Trees of Mystery. In addition to a museum, their are walking trails through the Redwoods. They also have gondola rides which take you high above the tree line. Just as we got on the gondola, it started raining heavily so we didn't get to see as much as we hoped. But it was still thrilling. We were really high and Tony started getting a little queazy!! We also saw trees that were growing on other trees. Very unique.

Tour thru Tree, Klamath, CA 06-05-07

We had to stop at this attraction off Highway 101. It's not often you can drive through a tree.

Redwoods National Forest, CA 06-05-07

The Redwoods are absolutely stunning. We have never seen trees so huge and so old!

Southern Oregon Beaches 6-04-07

We left Central Oregon and headed for Gold Beach, OR as our first destination. We are going to travel Highway 101 and enjoy the beautiful Pacific Coastline. Trevor, our grandson, is accompanying us on the trip.

On the Road Again 6-01-07
